Clairvoyance
by Liz Becker
Someone who has this gift is called a 'Clairvoyant'. The name clairvoyance comes from the 17th century French words - clair means 'clear' and voyance means 'visible'. This is the ability to see visions and pictures using the 'third eye'. The third eye is an energy center or 'chakra' located in the center your forehead. That's why you'll often see people looking up when they see a picture in their 'mind's eye'. People who don't believe in psychic powers refer to pictures they see in their mind as 'looking through their mind's eye'. Psychics refer to the same phenomena as 'looking through their third eye'. The third eye is one of several invisible energy centers located in the body. These energy centers are referred to as Chakras.
These visions, movies, or pictures that a clairvoyant sees can be of the past, present, future, ... and any location. Clairvoyants by nature have a wild imagination and vivid dreams. They are able to see things clearly in the third eye or their 'mind's eye'. A clairvoyant receives messages or information that is not commonly known through pictures in their mind.
Sometimes pictures can have several meanings. For example a picture of a snake may immediately instill fear in some people and the message could be very negative. On the other hand, the message might be very positive for someone who loves snakes. That's why most clairvoyant psychics will usually tell clients what they see and ask if it means anything to the client.
More artistic clairvoyants sometime sell 'spirit drawings' or representations of what they saw in their mind or 'third eye'. These spirit drawings are typically of angels, spirit guides, people, birds, and animals.
