What Is Death?
Death is the end of life as we know it. But most of us believe in life after death. In other words instead of dying, our true self, merely transitions to a spiritual, unseen, invisible self. i.e. we're still conscious, but unable to use our physical body to communicate. Many people believe in ghosts
How Do We Know There's Life After Death?
No one knows for sure. But it seems very likely that we are conscious after we die if we believe we are energy.
If we are energy that can operate without a physical body, then we can live after our body dies. However if our energy is dependent upon our physical condition, then it's logical that our energy field would die with our body.
Is there reason to believe we can sustain an invisible energy body without a physical body? That is the big question. If you know the answer to that or could prove it, you would definitely know if there is life after death.
You could ask questions like this.
- What does it take to operate an energy field?
- Where would the energy field individual get their energy from?
- Without food, water, and a physical body, could the real me survive after death?
Going Back To God.
Some people believe that we go back to God after we die. This makes more sense perhaps, compared to believing we operate as individuals in the spirit realm.
There is an old story that goes like this.
A raindrop is falling from the sky. It's afraid about what will happen to it when it hits the ground. Will it die? As the tiny raindrop joins other raindrops on the earth, it flows into the river and from there into the sea. Soon the raindrop understands it's true nature. No longer is it a tiny raindrop. It's now greater than ever before. It is now the ocean.
That's a very nice way of understanding death. Going back to God does not mean our memories are lost. We are never forgotten. God remembers each one of us because when we go back to him we carry our identity and experiences. But now we are no longer a tiny human. We are now God.
Ghosts. Do Spirits Exist?
Yes. They are very real but that doesn't mean we've solved our riddle about life after death.
Although spiritual beings exist, were they at one time humans? It's possible that these beings were never in the physical form. They could be extraterrestrials. Or they could be life forms that evolved along side us on this planet.
What about people who have talked with their dead loved ones? I've experienced this many times, but there's still a question in my mind. Was it real or did I make it up? Was I really communicating with a loved one? Or was it a spirit guide, trying to communicate with me? Perhaps one way to get my attention is to give me messages from someone I love who has passed away.
Do We Go To Heaven Or Hell?
If you're a Christian you may believe in those concepts. It's possible, but it's hard to believe that physical ongoing pain and torment exists in hell. Without our physical body, how could we experience these things?
It's likely that heaven and hell is a metaphor for our life. When we leave God's love and isolate ourselves, we are in darkness, - alone, afraid, unloved, and all alone. In that place of fear we experience much pain and suffering because we've disconnected from God the source of love and life. We've disconnected from friends, family, and loved ones. We are living in hell, not because God hates us, but because we chose to leave the source of love.
We can leave God, but God never leaves us. As soon as we understand and feel God's love, we leave hell and begin to experience 'heaven'. That could happen before or after we die.
What Happens After We Die?
- Study and learn what people from different cultures believe
- Look for a common thread that unites all belief systems
- Learn how to meditate and get in touch with your 'higher self'
In other words do some spiritual work and research. Try to connect with God on a personal level by silencing your mind in meditation. As you do this, you will understand God. You will understand who you are as well.
Who Am I?
In meditation you are in the now. You observe and focus on anything you want, but there is no past and no future. There is no judgment. There is no evil. When we accept what is without judgment, stress vanishes. We become one with our Creator, this planet, the universe, and all beings, physical and spiritual.
Do you want to operate as an individual? Or do you want to be connected with all life? I believe we have that choice when we're living and after we leave our body. But what do you believe?
If you were to lose all your memories, what would be left. Think about that. If you're connected with all that is and God, it's impossible to die. We merely leave this body and rejoin the endless source of life on the other side.
