Popular Theories About The Reality of Ghosts and How To Communicate With Them.
Everyone has different beliefs about life after death. Religion influences most people. However many people have had near death experiences, or other personal experiences that have altered their belief system.
Here are some popular theories for you to consider. These are merely theories. They are not facts or ideas I personally believe in.
- Ghosts are real. When our physical body dies, our spirit or soul leaves our body and we essentially become a ghost.
- Ghosts can inhabit a 'host' or living person. Usually these ghosts are attracted to people who are similar or enjoy the same activities. For example a ghost might attach itself to an alcoholic in order to enjoy alcohol along with it's host. Or if the ghost was a musician in real life, it might try to inhabit a live musician in order to enjoy the same experience.
- Ghosts can haunt a building or place, - usually it's the location where they died or were buried.
- Some spirits go 'into the light' and some choose not to. i.e. after death some spirits leave this earthly plain and take on a new existance, never to return. Other spirits are attached to their earthly home and refuse to go. It is thought they might not know they're dead or they are trying to communicate a message to the living.
- There are no such things as ghosts. When we die we cease to exist. Some believe in life after death but not on this eartlhly plain.
- There is no such thing as ghosts or spirits. If you can't see it, it can't be real.
- Ghosts do not exist but spirits do. These are considered to be angels or aliens or other earthly life forms that most people cannot see with their physical eyes.
Spirit Mediums
Spirit mediums are able to act as a channel or conduit for spirits to communicate through them. This gift is often referred to as 'channelling'. Some mediums specialize in channelling a limited number of spirits such as Michael, Seth, Abraham, Gabriel, ... Other mediums will allow all spirits to communicate through them.
Mediums also vary in their spirituality. Some say prayers before channelling, they ask for protection from evil spirits, they open their chakras before starting and close them tight when they're done. These mediums believe in good and evil in the spirit world. This is likely a concept carried over from traditional Christian religions that teach good and bad, heaven and hell, evil angels that fell from God's grace, etc. Whether this is true or not is not the issue. The fact that they believe in the need for protection makes this need very real. In fact many have experienced very negative experiences when they 'forgot' to ask for protection from 'God' or their spirit guides.
Other mediums are not as fearful. They see no need to say religious prayers or do rituals in preparation for communication with ghosts, dead spirits, or aliens that most people can't see. These mediums believe they are protected through the divine nature of their existance. i.e. they believe they have the divine power to only allow loving, friendly spirits with good intentions to speak with them. They believe they are equals with spirit beings and have nothing to fear. They will not allow evil spirits or spirits with a different 'vibration' to channel through them. A few mediums are evolved enough to discard old religious beliefs. They have bought into the theory that there is no evil in the spirit world. Evil exists here on earth because some people are not aware of their true spiritual nature.
Some mediums also acknowledge that their is no such thing as good and bad, high or low, small or big, ... these are merely judgements people carry around with them. None of this applies in the spirit world. Whether this is true or not is up for debate, however mediums who only believe in love only attract love. How do I know this? From personal experiences and logic. Logically if a medium doesn't believe in evil spirits, they would logically change their beliefs when they suddenly encountered evil spirits. Because this never happens, it confirms their belief that only love exists on the 'other side'.
Still other mediums believe in good spirits and bad spirits, however they believe they're just as powerful as any spirit and no harm will come to them. They also will command evil spirits to leave. They believe that they have the power to do that, because they've done it many times and it's always worked.
Another group of spirt mediums believe in good and evil in the spirit world, except they believe in the law of attraction. Much like the previous group of mediums, these mediums believe they will attract spirits just like them. After all why would a spirit be interested in someone who is different. For example we do this all the time. Don't we pick friends that we like, that have similar interests, that think the same in many ways, that have similar goals, ambitions, status, ... We pick friends we are comfortable with. These mediums believe that spirits only take an interest in people or mediums they're comfortable with. Therefore they practice being loving, kind, and benevolent at all times. They believe by doing this, only spirits like them will be interested in communicating. These mediums are also likely to command unwanted spirits to leave.
